Parade and Fireworks

I had a great time on the 4th of July! Mom and dad took me to a parade in the morning where I saw lots of firetrucks, cars, and veterans. My favorite moments were when the clown came by, being handed a sucker by one of the campaign floats (what are the implications of that?) and seeing a kid dunked at one of the carnival games.

Then, last night, mom and dad took me to see the fireworks. We discussed the fireworks for over a week at school so I was excited, despite being warned that they would be loud and bright. It was well past my bed time, and we watched a bunch that were being shot from a mile away or so, and I was loosing interest pretty quickly. Then the display started up right in front of us! It was quite exciting.

I really like the ones that shot up high right above our heads! I also surprised everyone by liking the loud ones. But if you ask me directly, I'll tell you, "the green ones were my favorite. And the purple ones were my favorite. And the red ones were my favorite."
